Manfred Höberl (born May 12, 1964 in Eggenberg , Graz , Austria ) is a former Austrian bodybuilder and strongman .

Life

He started his sporting career in bodybuilding , where he also won a few minor titles, but soon he decided on pure strength training . He successfully took part in strongman championships. His strongest competitor at the time was Magnús Vér Magnússon .

He won the title in 1993 and 1994 as World Musclepower Winner and “ Strongest Man in the World ” (2nd place). He was in the Guinness Book of Records as the "man with the largest upper arm circumference" at 67 cm. After a serious car accident in his Mercedes 560 SEC , in which Manfred Höberl sustained several bone injuries, his career in international weight training was briefly interrupted. After the rehabilitation, however, Manfred Höberl resumed private training. This was later followed by a television appearance in which he prevented two Ferraris from driving with pure muscle strength in the Herculeshold and many other appearances and TV shows. He was also very successful with his nutritional supplement products.

Höberl participated in disciplines in strongman competitions: Farmerswalk (carrying a concrete case), Atlas Stones (stone balls up to 180 kg), Herculeshold (two handles on wire ropes), Carlift (lifting or knocking over cars) and Powerstairs (three weights on stairs).

In 2001 he suffered a very serious motorcycle accident through no fault of his own and is still suffering from its consequences today.
