Manfred Reibestein

Manfred Reibestein (born February 25, 1953 in Wermsdorf , Saxony ) is a former German art cyclist .

career

Manfred Reibestein started cycling at BSG Chemie Nerchau in 1964 . The club dominated the individual competitions in the GDR from 1972 to 1990 . During this time, Reibestein won three titles at GDR championships , and also won seven silver and one bronze medal.

Reibstein's highest score was 309.32. Despite a long membership in the top national field, he was denied participation in world championships because the GDR did not take part in international art cycling competitions. In 1984 he finally stopped competitive sports.

After the active career

After his career, Reibestein also appeared internationally for a few years at the GDR sports show . He is still active today (2013) as a young trainer and is also president of the Nerchauer SV, the successor to BSG Chemie.

  • 2nd place GDR championship: 1972, 1973, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1984
