Manfred Utsch

Manfred Utsch (born March 24, 1936 ) is a German entrepreneur and sponsor .

Entrepreneurship

Manfred Utsch was born as the eldest of eight children of the master shoemaker Erich Utsch. He is the father of three children. Manfred Utsch initially worked as a shoe seller and in the family laundry that was operated in the late 1950s. He joined his parents' company in 1965, where the production of license plates had started in 1961. In 1969 he took over today's Utsch AG from his father, who died that year, and expanded it immensely in the decades that followed. Because of its success, it is commonly referred to as the “shield king”. After accompanying the conversion of Erich Utsch KG to Utsch AG in 2001, he moved to the supervisory board in 2002.

Sporting commitment

From 1983 on Utsch was active in various offices at Sportfreunde Siegen . He was also active as President and until March 14, 2006 as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. He was made honorary president and accompanied the club in their only season in the 2nd Bundesliga (2005/06) . He ended his engagement in May 2014.
