Deficient diet

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A deficient diet is a nutrition plan that leads to an insufficient supply of the body with nutrients , vitamins , minerals or trace elements. The name has nothing to do with the energy supply. Permanently too low energy intake is known as malnutrition .

Deficient diets can lead to a breakdown of muscle and nerve substance.

A classic deficient diet is the zero diet , but some weight reduction diets are also one-sided and lead to a potentially harmful long-term undersupply of certain food components.
