Mannesmann Precision Tubes GmbH is a manufacturer of cold-drawn seamless and welded precision steel tubes as well as a producer of welded size- rolled precision steel tubes. In addition to several German plants, the company also has production sites in France , the Netherlands and Mexico . The company is embedded in the Mannesmann division of the Salzgitter Group .
history
Just a few years after inventing their process for the production of seamless steel tubes , the brothers Reinhard and Max Mannesmann also began producing precision steel tubes in 1888. Mannesmann coined the name of the entire product group.
In 1993, together with Krupp-Hoesch, Mannesmann founded the joint venture MHP Mannesmann Hoesch Präzisrohr GmbH based in Hamm for their precision tube production. After Mannesmann became the sole owner in 1997, the company changed its name to MHP Mannesmann Präzisrohr GmbH.
In 2000, Salzgitter AG took over Mannesmannröhren-Werke and its subsidiaries. This also made MHP Mannesmann Präzisrohr GmbH part of the Salzgitter Group. In the following years, the precision tube range was expanded and extended to other countries. The traditional French precision tube manufacturer Vallourec Précision Etirage SAS, today Mannesmann Precision Tubes France SAS, the Vallourec plant for hot-rolled tubes in Zeithain, today Mannesmannröhren-Werk GmbH and Bresmex Tuberia in Mexico, today Mannesmann Precision Tubes Mexico SA de CV, were taken over under the name Salzgitter Mannesmann Precision GmbH and since October 2017 as Mannesmann Precision Tubes GmbH, the company has established itself as a leading European manufacturer of precision steel tubes.
