Il manuals

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Il Manuale (Il Manuale ragionato per la parte meccanica del'arte del ristauratore dei dipinti) is a manual for restorers .

The author, Giovanni Secco Suardo , published the work in 1866. The impetus for the publication came from the disputes over the protection of cultural property in Italy around 1861 and mentors such as the art connoisseur and developer of the Morellian method Giovanni Morelli from the Accademia Carrara . Il Manuale is a key work in restoration techniques and therefore remained relevant until the middle of the 20th century.
