Calum Mallace (born January 10, 1990 in Torphichen ) is a Scottish football player who is used as a midfielder . He is currently under contract with Los Angeles FC .

Career

Mallace spent his childhood in Scotland, where he also started playing football. At the age of nine, he and his family moved from Scotland to the United States. There he played for two years with the Woodbury Predators in Minnesota .

Mallace attended Marquette University and played for the university's soccer team. In total, he came there to 69 games for selection; he received several awards for his outstanding achievements. In 2011 he made the move to Chicago Fire Premier , the youth team of Chicago Fire , which laid the foundation for his professional career.

In the 2012 MLS SuperDraft , Mallace was selected and signed by the Canadian franchise Montreal Impact . In the 2012 season Mallace was used four times for Impact. He played his first professional game on June 30, 2012 against DC United . In addition, he was also active for the reserve team, where he played eight games.

In the 2013 season Mallace was initially used twice, then he was loaned to Minnesota United so he could gain more game practice. For Minnesota, he played twelve games, scoring one goal and preparing another.

For the 2014 season , Mallace returned to Montreal Impact, where he finally made his breakthrough in professional football. He became a key player for Impact and was featured 23 times over the course of the season. On September 13, 2014 Mallace finally scored his first goal in professional football in the game against New England Revolution . He was also used three times in the CONCACAF Champions League and helped out in the MLS Reserve League for the second representation of Impact. Finally, Mallace managed to win the 2014 Canadian Championship with Impact.

The trend continued during the 2015 season , with Mallace regularly on the starting grid of Montreal Impact.

His brother Craig is also a soccer player. He played for Minnesota Thunder and is the director of the Minnesota United youth academy, for which Calum Mallace was active in 2013.
