Manuel Fernández Castrillón
Manuel Fernández Castrillón (* around 1780 in Spain or Cuba ; † April 21, 1836 ) was a Mexican officer .
life and career
He first served in the Spanish army, in the Mexican War of Independence he defected to the rebels. He was friends with the first Mexican President Antonio López de Santa Anna .
Castrillón died as a general in the Battle of San Jacinto , in which the Texan troops defeated the Mexican ones. He is buried in the De Zavala Family Cemetery in La Porte , Harris County , Texas .
