Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Accociation (MESA) is a US-American industrial association based in Chandler, Arizona . It was founded in 1992 by several industry representatives, software companies and corporate agencies.

The aim of the association is to optimize business processes in the manufacturing industry by improving existing software applications and introducing new information systems. The vertical and horizontal integration of information systems play an essential role. As a lobbying organization for software manufacturers, the MESA points above all to the savings potential that arises from the introduction of production control systems ( Manufacturing Execution Systems ). These systems make data available in real time during the entire production process.

activities

The MESA informs manufacturing companies and software providers about the topics of production management, product development, quality management and production optimization and enables them to exchange experiences. The integration of production-related systems is of particular importance.

The association's tasks also include working on international standards for the management of production processes and commissioning scientific studies on these topics. In 1997, MESA developed a standard for functional delimitation, in which eleven functions of Manufacturing Execution Systems were defined.
