María Gravina

María F. Gravina Telechea (born December 12, 1939 in Montevideo , Uruguay) is a Uruguayan writer .

From 1972 to 1985, during the civil-military dictatorship in Uruguay, Gravina lived abroad. She stayed in Chile , Sweden , Cuba and Mexico . For her work Lázaro vuela tojo , published in 1979 , she was awarded the Premio Casa de las Américas by the Casa de las Américas in 1960 . She was also the author of the anthology Tómame Ahora , published in Cuba in 1980 , which contains poems by Juana de Ibarbourou . Two years later, Gravinas Que diga Quincho was first published in Nicaragua and in 1985 in Cuba. In 1988 she wrote the poetry work La Leche de las Piedras . Gravina's poems also appeared in national and international newspaper supplements and magazines. In particular in La República de las Mujeres she also appeared with interviews and other contributions. In 1981 and 1987 she took part in literary congresses in Cuba.
