María Guadalupe González

María Guadalupe González ( María Guadalupe González Romero; born January 9, 1989 ) is a Mexican walker .

In 2013 she won the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships in 10,000 m walking and in 2015 at the Pan American Games in Toronto in 20 km walking . At the 2016 Summer Olympics , she won the silver medal over the same distance.

On May 3, 2014, she set the current Mexican record in 20 km walking in Taicang with 1:28:48 h.

doping

During a training control, the anabolic steroid Trenbolone was detected in her . The ban on the vice world champion in London 2017 came into effect retrospectively from November 2018 and is valid until 2022. González failed with her appeal against the four-year doping ban and has to reckon with new investigations due to false statements. As the Independent Integrity Commission ( AIU ) of the World Athletics Association announced on July 14, 2020, the International Sports Court (CAS) dismissed the appeal and confirmed the judgment.
