The Marburger Kreisbahn 5 tank locomotive was a steam locomotive with a D wheel arrangement that was originally intended to be delivered to a French customer. Since it was not removed for warranty reasons, it is said to have been located at the Kleinbahn Bossel – Blankenstein from 1922 . From 1926 to 1929 she drove on the Marburger Kreisbahn . After 1933 it was sold to the Anna mine in Alsdorf as an industrial locomotive .

history

The locomotive belonged to a type that was only built in a few copies. The exact number is not known.

The locomotive with the O&K road number 4768 was originally delivered to a customer in France. After a new registration in 1922, it is said to have come to the Kleinbahn Bossel – Blankenstein , where it is said to have worn the number 3 . The locomotive went to the Marburger Kreisbahn in 1926 with expired deadlines at a price of 30,520 Reichsmarks , where it received the number 5 .

The locomotive was rarely used. With its axle load , it was too heavy for the circular path. The locomotive ran poorly, and the water tank was far too small. The drive was difficult to access due to the water box construction, which impaired the maintenance of the locomotive. The locomotive was only used at peak times due to its efficiency and is said to have been for sale as early as 1929. This sale through a company from Cologne was realized in 1933 to the Anna mine in Alsdorf, where it was given the number Anna 3 . The locomotive was in service until 1965 when it was retired and scrapped.

technology

The locomotive had an inner frame and a water tank with a curved filler neck mounted between the frame cheeks. The driver's cab had a high attachment and side and front panes. The drive was designed according to the Gölsdorf system .

Possibly the locomotive was equipped with flat slide valves. Boiler feed the locomotive had two injectors of Strube with an output of 125 l / min. It was originally equipped with a Westinghouse brake . The braking system was later converted to the Knorr-Bremse system.
