The Marburger Universitätsbund is the non-profit association of friends and alumni of the Philipps University of Marburg .

Objectives

Where the available public funds are insufficient, the University Association supports the university and its members in numerous scientific and social tasks. This ranges from art funding such as B. the music pavilion for students of Philipps University up to grants for academic semesters abroad, excursions, lectures and events.

The recognition of outstanding dissertations by young scientists is a special, ongoing concern. In addition, the Marburg University Association awards the Karl Winnacker Prize as well as funding from the Ursula Kuhlmann Fund for ancillary costs for smaller and medium-sized university conferences .

Structures

The Marburg University Association maintains a sports and study center in Hirschegg (Kleinwalsertal) .

Members subscribe to the "Marburger UniJournal" magazine, which comes out three times a year and reports on the Philipps University and its current teaching and research activities.

In cooperation with sections of the Marburg University Association and various adult education centers in Hessen, small series of lectures are held on a regular basis.
