Marc Schmitz (* 1973 in Aachen ) is a German media manager and managing director of Ströer Content Group GmbH, which includes the news portals t-online.de , giga.de and watson.de .

Life

Schmitz was born in Aachen in 1973 as the son of the architect Heinz Schmitz and Edelgard Schmitz.

He studied business administration with a focus on e-business and controlling at RWTH Aachen University . After completing his studies, he worked as a consultant in the IT / CRM area before focusing on management consulting with a focus on digital processes.

In 2005 Marc Schmitz switched to OnVista. There he helped set up the Onmeda health portal , for which he was later also responsible. In 2010 he was appointed to the board of aufeminin SA, where he was responsible for international business and the expansion of cross-border activities. At the same time, he was managing director of the German aufeminin subsidiary gofeminin.de GmbH.

On May 1, 2016, Marc Schmitz took over the management of the Ströer Content Group. He is therefore responsible for the Ströer Group's publishing, subscription and e-commerce business.
