Marcellinus (Bishop of Diocaesarea)
Marcellinus was in the first half of the 6th century bishop of the city of Diocaesarea , the former Sepphoris , in the eastern Roman province of Palestina Secunda , today Israel . He is attested as a signatory of the resolutions of the Synod of Jerusalem 518 and in an inscription from the city. It lists the construction and renovation work he has initiated. The inscription can be dated to the 6th century for palaeographical reasons and names the governor Flavius Theodorus and the 11th indiction , probably the year 517/518.
