The inscription ( RIB 1091 )

Marcus Aurelius Quirinus was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 3rd century AD .

Two inscriptions that were found at the Longovicium fort and which are dated 238/244 prove that Quirinus was prefect of the Cohors I Lingonum Gordiana , which was stationed in the province of Britannia at that time . A dedicatory inscription found at Eastgate is also from him.
