Margo Drakos

Margo Tatgenhorst Drakos is an American cellist and entrepreneur.

Drakos appeared in radio and television commercials at the age of four. After attending the Conservatory, she graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music with degrees in cello and composition. She then worked as artist in residence and teacher of cello and chamber music at the Aspen Music Festival and from 2002 to 2008 at the Manhattan School of Music and toured with Musicians from Marlboro . She was also a member of the American String Quartet , principal cellist of the San Diego Symphony and assistant concertmaster of the Pittsburgh Symphony . She made recordings with Sony Classical , Naxos and Longhorn Records .

In 2007 she founded her first start-up, InstantEncore.com , a web service for performing arts that offered the first live streaming of events at Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House . In 2011 she became a partner in the SwitchCase Group , her company's main investor. She was also the founder and president of AppBridge , an initiative of the World Economic Forum and the Clinton Global Initiative to promote education and business in developing countries through mobile apps . In 2014, she co-founded ArtistYear , an initiative of the Aspen Institute's Franklin Project that funds a year of art classes in underserved communities in the United States. From 2013 to 2017 she was Chief Technology Officer of McChrystal Group LLC and Chief Growth Officer of the software company CrossLead, Inc. She is Vice President for Corporate Development at Morphlabs and a member of the Advisory Board at Perpetual Value Partners and Compagnie Financiere Otto . The World Economic Forum accepted her into the Young Global Leaders community in 2010 .
