Maria Fratangelo

Maria Fratangelo (* in the 20th century ) is an Italian lawyer and canon lawyer at the Roman Rota .

Maria Fratangelo previously worked as a lawyer at the Roman Rota. On November 8, 2018, Pope Francis appointed her as spousal defender at the Roman Rota, one of three courts of the Curia.

Fratangelo is the first woman to hold this position at the Vatican's second highest court; so far only lawyers with ordination have been appointed. Fratangelo succeeds Robert Golebiowski .
