Maria Jammes

Maria Jammes (born November 28, 1939 in Essen ) is a German politician, formerly the SPD , now from Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen .

education and profession

Maria Jammes first attended secondary school. From 1956 to 1959 she completed an apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory assistant. She passed her Abitur in 1962. An insurance salesman apprenticeship followed from 1962 to 1964. She studied at the Ruhr University in Bochum and took an exam in 1970. Then she was a graduate social scientist. From 1970 to 1973 she worked as a lecturer in political education at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation; until 1975 pedagogical assistant at the adult education center in Dortmund. From 1975 her employment relationship was suspended in accordance with the State Legal Status Act, and in 1980 she resigned from office in accordance with the Deputies Act (AbgG NW).

politics

Maria Jammers was a member of the SPD from 1961 to 1997. She was a member of the local association board of the SPD Essen-Holsterhausen; also member of the sub-district executive committee of the SPD Essen and member of the council of the city of Essen. In 1963 she became a union member, now GEW. Other offices: Member of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt and the German Child Protection Association.

Jammes resigned from the SPD in 1997 to become a member of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party.

From May 28, 1975 to May 29, 1985, Maria Jammes was a directly elected member of the 8th and 9th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia for constituency 064 Essen II and constituency 075 Essen I.
