María Laura Mederos Mariño , also known as Gigi or Gigistar , (born June 7, 1990 in Distrito Capital ) is a Venezuelan model .

Life

After an agency noticed her and persuaded her mother to give her underage daughter permission to work as a model, María Laura Mederos made contact with the fashion world in 2003. Soon she was booked for fashion photos and also received jobs from advertising. Finally, she specialized in bikini and swimwear.

In 2006, María Laura Mederos, who is 1.69 meters tall, opened her own website, which she operates under the trademark "Gigistar". Since then she has appeared in videos as well as in photo shoots alongside other well-known Venezuelan models such as Karla López , Karla Osuna and Ruth Medina. As part of a public photo shoot, she introduced herself to her fans near Caracas in October 2008 .

Unlike her colleague López, she refrains from partial nude recordings - not least because the public reactions to López's topless photos in Venezuela, which is strongly influenced by Catholicism, met with some fierce criticism. When asked about her (by Venezuelan standards) still considerably sexualizing effect of her previous photo series, María Laura Mederos commented in an interview with Urbe Bikini magazine published in May 2009 about being seen as a sex symbol by her predominantly male fans: “ I look me as an exhibitionistic, egocentric, sensual and very conspicuous girl ... "

Since the beginning of 2010 she has also been working as a creative director for photo fashion sessions. Since 2013, she and López, who now appears as Nany Tovar, have been represented and marketed by Xene producciones.

Private

Maria Laura Mederos Mariño was married at a young age, the marriage of the still minor Caraceña and the adult Jorge Elortegui was divorced in November 2006. She has an older brother named Richard.
