Maria Martinelli

Maria Martinelli (* 1958 in Reggio nell'Emilia ) is an Italian director.

Martinelli started at the theater in 1977 and switched to film in 1983, where she made short documentaries on topics such as childhood, war, immigration and juvenile delinquency. From 1994 to 1999 she was the director of La Palazzina , the information and communication center in Imola . In 2000 she made the long documentary Gladiatori about the hardcore business. With a representative of this film genre, Rocco Siffredi , she directed the thriller Amorestremo the following year . The 2004 documentary L'amore che fugge won an award at the Bellaria Film Festival . Two further films highlighted women's armed service and parenting of homosexual couples.
