Marianne is a French horror television series that was inducted into Netflix 's program on September 13, 2019 . In January 2020 it was announced that the series would be discontinued after the first season.

When the successful horror writer Emma Larsimon announced that she wanted to end her series of novels about her character Lizzy Larck and the witch Marianne, her former schoolmate Caroline showed up at an autograph session. Caroline, whose mother is apparently obsessed with Marianne, asks Emma to keep writing. For Emma, who seems to be haunted by Marianne in her dreams, her decision has been made, and so Caroline hangs herself one morning. Emma then returns with her assistant Camille to her home town of Elden, where she and her childhood friends try to solve the secret of Marianne.
