Marie-Paule Panza

Marie-Paule Panza (born January 4, 1960 ) is a former French judoka . She won a silver medal at the 1980 World Championships.

Athletic career

Marie-Paule Panza fought in the lightweight, the weight class up to 56 kilograms. In 1977 she was third in the French championships, in 1978 she finished second behind Françoise Dufresnes .

In September 1980 she won the international tournament in Strasbourg. At the end of November 1980, New York City hosted the first World Judo Championships for women. The French women won a medal in the competitions in each of the eight weight classes. Marie-Paule Panza reached the final and lost to the Austrian Gerda Winklbauer .

In 1983 and 1984 Panza took third place twice in French championships.
