The Marien Gesellschaft Siegen gGmbH is a Siegen health company, which in June 2018 from the St. Marien Hospital Siegen acc. GmbH emerged. Six divisions operate under the umbrella of the company: "Marien Kliniken", "Marien Ambulant", "Marien Pflege", "Marien Hospiz", "Marien Aktiv" and "Marien Service".

history

The Marien Gesellschaft Siegen had its origin in the Marien Hospital, which was first mentioned on a "share" in 1858. This was used to finance the hospital and the proceeds of the "share issue" enabled the hospital to open in 1861. As a result, the hospital developed as a special fund of the parish of St. Marien Siegen until it was converted into a GmbH in 1988. At that time it was the first GmbH of a Catholic hospital in the Archdiocese of Paderborn. As a result, two subsidiaries were founded, GSS Gesundheits-Service Siegen acc. GmbH (1996) and MVZ Medical Care Center at St. Marien Hospital Siegen GmbH (2005).

The Siegen-Wittgenstein Catholic Social Foundation was founded in 2010. Another foundation, together with two other hospital operators, took place in 2014 with the establishment of the Educational Institute for Health Professions in Südwestfalen GmbH. The institute opened in 2019 and offers 450 training positions in the field of nursing and geriatric care. Then, again in cooperation, the Klinikservice Siegerland gmbH was founded in 2018, which offers food supply for hospitals and senior facilities. The large kitchen she operates was opened in 2020.

In 2018 the company was reorganized: Marien Gesellschaft Siegen gGmbH with the divisions "Marien Kliniken" (Marien Hospital and Marien Medical Centers) and "Marien Hospiz" (Hospice Louise von Marillac), Marien Ambulant gGmbH (14 specialist practices), Marien Care gGmbH (6 senior centers), Marien Aktiv gGmbH (therapy center) and Marien Service GmbH (café and kiosk operations). The company holds various investments.
