Marian column (Kyllburg)

The Kyllburg Marian Column is a 15-meter-high observation tower with a statue of the Virgin Mary on top, built by master bricklayer Jakob Kronibus and sculptor Peter Quririn in 1886 . The 3 meter high statue stands on a 1.69 meter high base.

The construction of the Kyllburg Marian Column, consecrated on October 30, 1886, cost 584 marks. Besides the Marian column in Trier, it is the only Marian column that can be climbed inside. The building can be illuminated during the night.
