Marija Michailowna Anikanowa ( Russian Мария Михайловна Аниканова , née Kulakowa, Russian Кулакова ; * November 12th July / November 25th  1916 greg .; †  2005 in Moscow ) was a Russian speed skater who started for the Soviet Union .

Career

Anikanowa took part in the all- around world championships in 1949 in Kongsberg (9th place), 1950 in Moscow (5th place), 1952 in Kokkola (2nd place) and 1953 in Lillehammer (8th place). At the all-around world championship in 1952 in Kokkola, Finland, she won the silver medal behind her compatriot Lidija Selichowa .

Anikanowa was multiple Soviet champion in all-around. She ended her career in 1954 and then worked as a trainer.

Anikanowa died in Moscow in 2005 and was buried in the Kunzewo Cemetery .

Private

Anikanowa was married to the Russian speed skater Ivan Anikanow (1914–1979). The couple had a son, Viktor Anikanow (* 1942), whose daughter is the actress Maria Anikanowa (* 1973), and a daughter, Irina Anikanowa.
