Marijonas Ročius
Marijonas Ročius (born February 9, 1963 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian correspondence chess player .
Life
After graduating from the Antanas Vienuolis Middle School in Vilnius in 1981, he graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Vilnius University in 1986 . In 2000 he continued his education in the USA. In 1986 he worked at the Ministry of Economy of Lithuania and in 1991 as a manager in the company AB “Pajus”. From 2000 he headed the finance company UAB “Investicijų portfelių valdymas” as general director. From 1997 to 2000 he was a member of the Vilnius Municipality Council .
Since 1991 he has been a member of the Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija .
In 2001 he was awarded the title of International Correspondence Chess Master by the International Correspondence Chess Federation , and in 2002 the title of Merited International Master (SIM) in correspondence chess. Also in tournament chess Ročius was active and reached in January 1995, its highest Elo rating of 2275. From 2007, he was Vice President of Lietuvos šachmatų federacija .
