Mario Dederichs

Mario R. Dederichs (* 1949 in Brühl ; † June 1, 2004 ) was a German journalist.

Life and activity

Dederichs began his career as a journalist for smaller regional newspapers. This was followed by employment as a parliamentary reporter for the UPI news agency and editor-in-chief of the ddp in London . In 1976 Dederichs became editor of the magazine Der Stern , for which he would work until his death. For Stern, he reported from 1984 to 1988 as a correspondent from Moscow and then from 1988 to 1994 as the USA correspondent from Washington, DC

In addition to his journalistic work, Dederichs also wrote several books on political and contemporary historical topics, such as a 1993 reflection on the then American First Lady Hillary Clinton and the role of women in politics as well as a biography published posthumously in 2005 about the head of the Reich Main Security Office of the SS, Reinhard Heydrich .
