Mario Raimondi (born July 10, 1980 ) is a former Swiss football player . Most recently he played in the Axpo Super League in the BSC Young Boys team .

Career

Mario Raimondi began his career at FC Oberdiessbach where he played from 1989 to 1995. In 1995 he moved to FC Dürrenast , after two seasons he switched to the National League B team of FC Thun . Here he was able to prevail in his second season and subsequently played in the regular formation. For the 2002/03 season, Raimondi moved to FC Zurich . After only one season with Zurich, Raimondi returned to FC Thun, which had meanwhile been promoted to the Super League . Back in Thun, he immediately showed excellent performances and was also able to prove his scoring threat. For the 2005/06 season, Raimondi then moved to cantonal rivals BSC Young Boys , where he rose to become a regular and vice-captain. With the Young Boys he was Swiss runner-up three times in a row from 2008 to 2010. At the end of the 2012/13 season, Mario Raimondi announced his retirement as a professional footballer. He played his last game on June 1, 2013 against FC Thun. For the 2013/14 season he took over the post of assistant coach of the U21 team at BSC Young Boys and also the head coach of the DB of FC Köniz.
