The Marion Jones Sports Complex , the former National Stadium , is a stadium in Belize City , Belize . The facility is mainly used for soccer games , athletics competitions and cycling races. The stadium has a capacity of 7,500.
The National Stadium was built in the 1960s. Initially horse races, football games and bicycle races took place there. The annual “Cross Country Cycling Classic” race ended several times with a final lap on the running track in the stadium. At first there was a dirt track, later it was paved.
In 2001, the US sprinter Marion Jones , whose mother is from Belize, visited the National Stadium. The facility was then renamed "Marion Jones Sports Complex".
