Marita Kraemer (born February 1, 1953 in Gerolstein ) is a German manager . She is a board member in several companies.

From 1999 to 2015 she was a member of the board of the Zurich Insurance Group Germany .

Professional background

Marita Kraemer began her professional career with an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. After studying business administration at the University of Wuppertal, she did her doctorate at the Free University in Berlin. She received a doctoral fellowship from the Science Center in Berlin at the institute of Harvard Professor Karl W. Deutsch . The topic of her dissertation was consumer behavior in Mexico; for this purpose she spent a six-month research stay on site. After completing her doctorate, Marita Kraemer started as a trainee at BHI AG (subsidiary of Dresdner Bank AG), Berlin, and became the first female corporate client advisor at Dresdner Bank. As one of 13 selected candidates worldwide, she then completed the bank's 15-month investment banking program with stays in New York and Chicago.

During the time of reunification, Kraemer moved to Dresden, Leipzig and Berlin, where she was most recently responsible for corporate customer and credit business in a city branch of Dresdner Bank AG with 230 employees. She then became co-head of corporate customer support in the Global Finance division of the investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, Luxembourg.

In 1999 Kraemer joined the Zurich Group Germany as a member of the Board of Management and was responsible for the credit insurance business until 2015, which she expanded as a Center of Excellence across Europe - with the industry experience appropriate for the business field of a credit insurer at both national and international level (e.g. Automotive, construction industry, energy suppliers, trade, mechanical and plant engineering and pharmaceuticals). At the same time, she was HR Director and Labor Director for several years.

Supervisory board mandates and committee memberships

Kraemer has been a member of the Supervisory Board of UniCredit Bank AG, Munich, since 2014 and head of the Risk Committee since 2015. Before that she was a member of the supervisory board and chairwoman of the audit committee of DAB Bank AG. She has been a member of the Board of Directors and Head of the Audit and Risk Committee of Allianz France, Paris, since 2016. and member of the supervisory board of the Euler Hermes Group, Paris.

Since 2018 she has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Allianz Deutschland AG, Munich.

Marita Kraemer is a member of the insurance committee of the IHK Frankfurt a. M., of the Board of Trustees Hessischer Kreis eV, Frankfurt a. M. as well as deputy chairwoman of the board of trustees of the CONCORDIA Social Projects Foundation Germany, Stuttgart.

Marita Kraemer lives with her husband in Frankfurt am Main.
