Cristo Reyes (born July 30, 1987 in La Laguna on Tenerife ) is a Spanish darts player .

Career

Cristo Reyes has been under contract with the PDC since 2014 . The first time it caused a stir was towards the end of that year. He won the Iberian qualification for the PDC World Championship 2015 . With this victory, Cristo Reyes was allowed to start in the preliminary round of the World Cup.

There he played against Christian Perez and won 4-0 without any problems. In the first main round he met Wes Newton as an outsider . With a score of 2: 2 in sets and 5: 5 in legs, the caller made a strange mistake. According to the rules, both players must throw at the bullseye again to determine who can open the final leg. The caller forgot this rule and let Cristo Reyes begin. In the middle of the leg, the leg was broken off and reissued. Reyes won the bull throw, the leg and the match. In the 2nd round Kevin Painter was waiting for Reyes. Painter took a 3-1 lead against the blatant underdog, but Cristo Reyes turned the match around and won 4-3. Cristo Reyes became the first Spaniard to reach the World Cup round of 16. In the round of 16, Reyes played against eventual winner of the tournament, Gary Anderson . Reyes won the first set, but in the end he lost clearly 1: 4.

Reyes received a TourCard for the PDC Darts season 2015/16 for the good World Cup performance . In a Players Championship tournament he threw a 9-darter against Robert Thornton , but lost 6-2.

At the PDC World Championship 2017 he prevailed 3-2 against Dimitri Van den Bergh in the first round . In the second round he was eliminated with a 2-4 defeat against Michael van Gerwen . With an average of 106.4 points, he set a record, never before has a player with such a high average been eliminated from a World Cup. This record was exceeded in the semifinals of the same tournament, as Raymond van Barneveld lost to Michael van Gerwen with an average of 109.36 points in the semifinals.

At the PDC World Darts Championship 2018 Reyes did not get past the first round and lost his opening match against his compatriot Toni Alcinas .
