World Darts Championship venue: Alexandra Palace in London

The 25th edition of the William Hill World Darts Championship 2018 was organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) from December 14, 2017 to January 1, 2018 . The venue for the eleventh time was the Alexandra Palace in London .

Rob Cross , who defeated Phil Taylor in the final , won his World Cup debut .

mode

The tournament was played in the best of sets or first to sets mode and the double-out variant .

The first player to win three legs wins a set . The player who throws exactly 501 points first wins a leg . The last throw of a leg must be on a double square.

If the score was 2: 2 legs in a decisive final set , the two-clear-legs rule applied (except in the preliminary round) . This states that a player must be two legs ahead to win the game. This creates neither of the two players, the game at the score of 5 is: 5 in the legs by a " sudden death - Leg " decided.
