Elmar Paulke (born March 13, 1970 in Bergisch Gladbach ) is a German television presenter and commentator for the online streaming service DAZN . Prior to joining DAZN he commented on the broadcasts of the World Cup since 2005 PDC - darts tournaments on Sport1.

Live and act

Paulke has been playing tennis since he was seven and financed most of his studies with tennis lessons ( diploma in sports with a focus on journalism at the Cologne Sports University ). After successfully completing his degree, Paulke spent around nine months in the USA in 1995 . His entry into German sports television ("DSF"), today Sport1 , took place in autumn 1996 with an internship in the Sport Report editorial team. Since April 1998 he has been an integral part of the DSF commentary team, acting as a tennis and darts expert. He hosted the programs Darts Live, Tennis Live, Golf Live and Athletics Live.

In May 2000 Paulke was awarded the Bavarian Television Prize for the DSF documentary " Boris Becker - I did it my way" . In the seven-part series he documented the Wimbledon era of the greatest German tennis player of all time. During production, Paulke and his team spent several days with Boris Becker at Wimbledon in the run-up to the All England Championships in 1999 and talked to him about his experiences and feelings at his favorite tournament .

Paulke became known to many viewers through the live moderation of the darts events on Sport1 together with Tomas "Shorty" Seyler . In this context Paulke published the works “Darts. The earth - one disc ”,“ Darts.2014 ”and“ Game on! - The crazy world of darts "

In 2017 he commented on darts tournaments for Sport1 and DAZN . Paulke's last appearance for Sport1, before moving to DAZN, was at the 2018 World Cup final between Phil Taylor and Rob Cross .

From February 18, 2017 to February 9, 2019, he was a commentator for Schlag den Star .
