Career

Zoran Lerchbacher began his career in the Austrian e-dart scene. In 2009 he took third place at the Austrian Open . In e-darts he has already become Austrian, European and world champions.

In 2011 he switched from the British Darts Organization to the Professional Darts Corporation . In 2013, despite a defeat in the final of the Bulls Super League Eastern Europe against his compatriot Mensur Suljović, he qualified for the 2014 World Cup , as he was already qualified via the Players Championship Order of Merit . In his preliminary round game he prevailed 4-1 against Englishman Ben Ward . In the first round he lost, despite a good performance, against the eventual winner Michael van Gerwen with 0: 3.

A few months later, the Styrian was able to win a Tourcard at the PDC Qualifying School , but he could not record any further successes in the following two years. Two years later, however, he found his way back to his old strength and was able to take part in three European Tour events and in the final of the Bulls Super League Eastern Europe 2016 with a 10: 1 win over Dietmar Burger again for the World Cup. In the preliminary round he defeated his opponent Simon Stevenson from England 2-1 , despite a 0-1 deficit . Also this year Lerchbacher showed a good performance in the first round against the Scotsman Robert Thornton , but this time too he lost 3-0.

Although he did not succeed in securing the tour card again, he managed to get the tour card through the Lerchbacher at the Q-School in January and qualified for the UK Open 2017 with good performance at the UK Open Qualifiers . With 4: 6 he was eliminated there in the second round against the Englishman Matthew Dennant .

With a final in Barnsley , where he lost to Joe Cullen 4-6, the Austrian was able to qualify for further tournaments. As a result, Zoki took a big step towards qualifying for important TV tournaments such as the Players Championship Finals 2017 . With a win over Mervyn King at the 2018 World Cup , Lerchbacher made it into the second round for the first time, where he lost 4-2 to Keegan Brown . This result placed Lerchbacher among the best 64 players in the PDC Order of Merit and thus received the Tourcard for 2018.

In the third tournament of the UK Open Qualifiers 2018 , Lerchbacher made it to the final, but had to admit defeat to Michael Smith 6-0. At the World Cup of Darts 2018 he competed for Austria together with Mensur Suljović , but the duo were eliminated in round 1 against Japan. At the tournament in the following year , however, the duo improved and made it to the quarterfinals. At the end of the year he prevailed against Rusty-Jake Rodriguez in the final of the South / East European Qualifier for the 2020 World Cup . In the first round he was able to prevail again in the decision leg and defeat the Englishman Jamie Hughes . In the following round, however, he was eliminated with 1: 3 against Krzysztof Ratajski from Poland and thus also lost his tour card.
