The Players Championship Finals (or Cash Converters Players Championship) is a tournament in darts . It is one of the major PDC major events and was held for the first time in 2009. The venue is currently the Butlins Resort in Minehead ( England ). Acting winner is Michael van Gerwen , who is also the record winner with 5 successes.

The Players Championship Finals are considered a dress rehearsal before the World Championship, which begins a few weeks later. As part of the Players Championship Finals, the final of the Junior World Championship will take place between the 2nd semi-final and the final.

format

A total of 30 Players Championship tournaments, which are part of the PDC Pro Tour, will be held throughout the calendar year. Starting with the 2016 season, the field of participants will be increased from 32 to 64 players. A second stage was therefore made available for the tournament. The field of participants consists of the top 64 of the Players Championship Order of Merit.

The event will be played in a knockout system . Each round is played in legs , with the number of legs to be won increasing per round. In the first and second round you play in the best of 11 legs mode, in the round of 16 and quarter finals the best of 19 legs mode applies. The semi-finals and the final will be played in the best of 21 legs mode.

Prize money

In the 2019 season, the total prize money was increased. From this year 500,000 instead of the previous 460,000 pounds will be distributed to the players. The distribution is distributed as follows:
