David "Dave" Chisnall (born September 12, 1980 in St Helens , England ) is a British darts player . In 2017 and 2019 he reached the quarter-finals of the PDC World Championship .

Career

In January 2009 he qualified for the BDO World Championship for the first time , but lost 3-2 to Martin Adams in the first round . On January 9, 2010, the two met in the final, in which Chisnall lost 5-7.

In 2011 he switched to the PDC . At the PDC World Darts Championship 2012 Chisnall defeated the record world champion Phil Taylor, who was seeded at No. 1, in the second round with 4: 1. In 2015 Chisnall threw his first nine-darter in front of the cameras in the preliminary round of the Grand Slam of Darts against Peter Wright.

At the PDC World Darts Championship 2017 Chisnall threw the 180 against Gary Anderson 21 times and thus set the record of thrown 180s in a game by Raymond van Barneveld . His opponent Anderson beat this record just 3 days later in the World Cup final.

At the World Cup of Darts 2017 he competed for England for the first time together with Adrian Lewis , because at that time he was the second best Englishman after Lewis in the PDC Order of Merit . The two reached the semi-finals, but failed there because of the Dutch Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld . Due to his mixed year 2017 and a defeat in the first round of the PDC World Darts Championship 2018 against Vincent van der Voort , in contrast to the years before, he did not receive a wildcard for the Premier League Darts 2018 .
