Vincent van der Voort (born December 18, 1975 in Purmerend , North Holland ) is a Dutch darts player .
Career
Van der Voort began his career at BDO . There he won the Danish Open in 2002 and 2006 and reached the quarter-finals of the World Professional Darts Championships in 2005 . In 2007 van der Voort switched to the Professional Darts Corporation . There he reached the final at the UK Open in the same year , where he was defeated by Raymond van Barneveld with 8:16. At the PDC World Darts Championship 2011 he made it to the quarter finals.
At the Austrian Open in May 2011, he won the final 6: 5 against Phil Taylor on the second day .
Van der Voort won the Austrian Darts Open 2014 in the final against Jamie Caven 6: 5.
At the PDC World Darts Championship 2015 he reached the quarter finals, but lost to Taylor 3: 5. In 2015 he was able to improve through various successes in the top 16 of the world rankings, whereby he is automatically qualified for the major tournaments of the PDC.
At the PDC World Darts Championship 2016 he lost in the round of 16 against eventual world champion Gary Anderson , against whom he only won one leg. At the World Matchplay he lost to Kyle Anderson in round 1 and slipped out of the top 16 of the PDC Order of Merit.
At the PDC World Darts Championship 2017 he lost against Max Hopp with 1: 3 in the 1st round. Immediately after this defeat, he considered retiring due to persistent back problems.
