Jeffrey de Zwaan (born March 26, 1996 in Rijswijk ) is a Dutch darts player .

Career

BDO

Jeffrey de Zwaan won the BDO World Youth Masters in 2012 . He then turned professional and took part in the Zuiderduin Masters a year later . However, he was eliminated in the group stage.

PDC

At the beginning of 2015 de Zwaan took part in the PDC Qualifying School and earned a two-year tour card on the first day. He first drew attention to himself at the UK Open Qualifier when he beat record world champion Phil Taylor . He also qualified for the UK Open 2015 . He lost to Benito van de Pas 2: 5 in the second round .

He threw his first 9-darter at a Players Championship in March 2015 .

De Zwaan qualified for the European Darts Championship 2015 . In the first round he met his compatriot and world number one Michael van Gerwen . De Zwaan lost this game 3-6. At the end of 2015 he also qualified for the PDC World Championship 2016 . It was his first participation in a world championship. Michael Smith was drawn to him in the first round . De Zwaan lost 2: 3 in the decisive 5th set , in the Sudden Death leg.

At the World Matchplay 2018 he managed another surprise when he, 68th in the world rankings, defeated number one in the world rankings Michael van Gerwen in the first round with 10: 6 and advanced to the semifinals, where he beat Gary Anderson with 12: 17 had to give up.
