Kevin Münch (born July 27, 1988 in Herne ) is a German dart player nicknamed "The Dragon".

Career

In his youth, Münch was number 1 in the youth rankings of the German Darts Association for many years . In 2008, just two years after moving to the men's standings, he was already in second place in the DDV rankings. Since then he has also been a permanent member of the German national darts team.

Münch won his first international title in 2009 at the world ranking tournament in Bremen, the German Gold Cup. There he was successful in both singles and doubles with Sven Flück . A year later he became the German men's champion , which he succeeded again in 2013 and in the youth field in 2004 and 2005.

Münch finished in the last 40 at the 2011 Winmau World Masters before losing to Colin Fowler .

By winning the German qualifying, where he defeated Bernd Roith 10: 8 in the final, Münch qualified for the PDC World Darts Championship 2012 . In his preliminary round match against Lee Choon Peng from Malaysia, he won 4-2 legs. In the first round he played against Denis Ovens and won the first set 3-0 legs before Ovens was forced to give up the game due to a back injury. Münch had to face Steve Farmer in the second round and lost 2: 4 sets.

Kevin Münch throws his darts with his left hand, even though he is actually right-handed. At the DDV Spreecup 2008 in Berlin, Münch and his doubles partner Sven Flück managed a 9-darter , with Münch throwing the opening 180 and the 141 finish.

At the PDC World Darts Championship 2018 he managed a big surprise after surviving the preliminary round by beating two-time world champion Adrian Lewis 3-1 in the first round . In this match, Münch threw eight 180 shots and checked out a leg with 158 points. In the second round he was eliminated from the Spaniard Toni Alcinas .
