The Super League Darts 2017 (officially Target Super League Darts Germany 2017 ) was a qualification tournament, which was organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) for the fifth time. It was used to determine a German participant in the PDC World Darts Championship 2018 .

The tournament began on January 28, 2017 with the first day of play and ended on November 18, 2017 with the play-offs.

Kevin Münch secured victory , who beat defending champion Dragutin Horvat in the final with 10: 3-legs.

qualification

16 players took part in the fifth edition of the Super League Darts, 12 of whom qualified in the previous season. Daniel Zygla left the Super League Darts, which is why a wildcard was given to Robert Marijanovic. The remaining 3 places were awarded by the Super League Qualifier. The qualification tournament took place on January 8, 2017 in Düsseldorf .

Preliminary round

The preliminary round matches will be played on a total of 5 tournament weekends. Every tournament weekend is played in the mode everyone against everyone . Every win brings one point. The 8 best players qualify for the play-offs at the end of the preliminary round. The players in places 15 and 16 will be relegated from the Super League. The player in 14th place can compete again in the Super League Qualifier. The preliminary round games are played in Best of Legs mode and the double-out variant . The first player to throw exactly 501 points wins a leg . The last throw of a leg must be on a double square. The game mode is best of 11 legs .

    The eight remaining players were divided into two groups based on their position in the table, in which everyone plays against everyone. The game mode was again best of 11 legs . The first and second in the group then played the two finalists in a semi-final with the best of 15 legs mode . The final was played in the best of 19 legs mode.

    Results at the World Cup

    Kevin Münch qualified for the PDC World Darts Championship 2018 with his final victory . In the preliminary round he met the Russian Alexander Oreschkin and was able to defeat him 2-0 in sets. In the main round he achieved a sensation by throwing former world champion Adrian Lewis out of the tournament with 3-1 in sets. In the second round, however, he was stopped by the Spaniard Toni Alcinas and lost with 1: 4 sets.
