Martin Schindler (born August 16, 1996 in Strausberg ) is a German darts player who competes in the Professional Darts Corporation .
Career
2014 to 2016
Schindler started his darts career in 2014. At the beginning he played in parallel in the PDC and in the competing association, the BDO . Schindler took part in the venerable World Masters in 2015 . After defeating Ted Hankey , among others , he was eliminated in the round of 48. Parallel to BDO events, Schindler repeatedly took part in PDC European Tour events . In 2015 he qualified for both the European Darts Trophy 2015 and the Dutch Darts Masters 2015 . Schindler never got past the first round. In 2016 Schindler qualified for the PDC Youth World Championship . He reached the last sixteen there after defeating the reigning youth world champion, his compatriot Max Hopp , 6-5 in the second round .
Since 2017
At the beginning of 2017, Schindler took part in the PDC Qualifying School . On the last day he won the so-called Tour Card, which entitles him to participate in all PDC Pro Tour events for two years. Together with Max Hopp , he competed for Germany at the World Cup of Darts 2017 in June . After victories over Northern Ireland and Brazil , he was eliminated with Hopp in the quarter-finals against the Netherlands . Schindler lost his game against Michael van Gerwen after a 2-0 lead with 2: 4 in this quarter-finals . At his first world championship, the PDC World Championship 2018 , Schindler lost his first round match against the Australian Simon Whitlock with 1: 3. At the UK Open 2018 he reached the round of 32, which he lost 10: 7 to the eventual finalist Corey Cadby . At the World Cup of Darts 2018 there was a new edition of the previous year's duel with the Netherlands and Michael van Gerwen. Schindler lost the game 4-1, but set a new German record with an average of 110.
