The Super League Darts 2019 (officially Unicorn Super League Darts Germany 2019 ) was a qualification tournament, which was organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) for the seventh time. It was used to determine a German participant in the PDC World Darts Championship 2020 .

The tournament began on January 19, 2019 with the first match day and ended on November 17, 2019 with the final round.

Nico Kurz secured the victory , who beat Martin Schindler with 10: 6-legs in the final.

qualification

The 13 best players from last year will take part in the Super League Darts. Since Stefan Stoyke withdrew his participation in 2019, the organizers gave Christian Bunse a wildcard . The remaining 3 places were awarded by the Super League Qualifier. Conditions for participation are 16 years of age, German citizenship and the payment of an entry fee of 30 €. The qualification tournament took place on November 16, 2018 at the Maritim Hotel in Düsseldorf .

Preliminary round

The preliminary round matches were played on a total of 5 tournament weekends. Every tournament weekend was played in the mode of everyone against everyone . Every win brings one point. The 8 best players qualify for the play-offs at the end of the preliminary round. The players in places 15 and 16 will be relegated from the Super League. The player in 14th place can compete again in the Super League Qualifier. The preliminary round games were played in the mode Best of Legs and the game variant Double-Out . The first player to throw exactly 501 points won a leg . The last throw of a leg had to be on a double field. The game mode was best of 11 legs .

    Results at the World Cup

    Nico Kurz was able to achieve some successes at the PDC World Darts Championship 2020 . Kurz won his first round match against Englishman James Wilson 3-1 in sets. Here he achieved eight perfect darts. Kurz also won the second round, this time against number 15 in the world, the Englishman Joe Cullen , 3-1 in sets. It was only stopped in the third round when he lost to Englishman Luke Humphries with 2-4 sets.
