Sascha Stein (born October 19, 1984 in Birkenau ) is a German darts player .

Career

Before his career with the PDC , Stein was better known as an e-dart player. In 2014 he was eligible to take part in the Bull's Super League Germany . He reached the final, but lost it with 10-8 against Max Hopp . The winner of the tournament was entitled to take part in the PDC World Championship 2015 in London . Since Hopp had already qualified for the World Cup, Stein moved up as a finalist.

At the World Cup, he met Kim Viljanen from Finland in the preliminary round . Stein beat Viljanen 4-1 in legs and moved into the first main round. There he played against Stuart Kellett , whom he could beat 3-1 in sets . In the 2nd lap (last 32) the reigning number 1 of the PDC , Michael van Gerwen, was waiting . Stein surprisingly won the first set, but in the end lost 4-1.
