The Super League Darts 2016 (officially Bull's Super League Darts Germany 2016 ) was a qualification tournament that was organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) for the fourth time. It was used to determine a German participant in the PDC World Darts Championship 2017 .

The tournament began on February 27, 2016 with the first day of play and ended on November 19, 2016 with the play-offs.

Dragutin Horvat secured victory , who beat Stefan Stoyke in the final with 10: 6-legs.

qualification

16 players took part in the fourth edition of the Super League Darts, 10 of whom qualified in the previous season. Of these, Ricardo Pietreczko withdrew his participation after the first matchday, which is why Martin Schindler came up for him. Furthermore, a wildcard was given to Fabian Herz . The remaining 5 places were awarded by the Super League Qualifier. The qualification tournament took place on January 24th, 2016 in Mönchengladbach .

Preliminary round

The preliminary round matches will be played on a total of 5 tournament weekends. Every tournament weekend is played in the mode everyone against everyone . Every win brings one point. The 8 best players qualify for the play-offs at the end of the preliminary round. The players in places 15 and 16 will be relegated from the Super League. The player in 14th place can compete again in the Super League Qualifier. The preliminary round games are played in Best of Legs mode and the double-out variant . The first player to throw exactly 501 points wins a leg . The last throw of a leg must be on a double square. The game mode is best of 11 legs .

    The eight remaining players were divided into two groups based on their position in the table, in which everyone plays against everyone. The game mode was again best of 11 legs . The first and second in the group then played the two finalists in a semi-final with the best of 15 legs mode . The final was played in the best of 19 legs mode.

    Results at the World Cup

    Dragutin Horvat was allowed to take part in the PDC World Darts Championship 2017 with his final victory . In the preliminary round he met the Russian Boris Koltsow and was able to defeat him 2-1 in sets. In the main round he then met the Australian Simon Whitlock and had to admit defeat 3-0.
