Antonio "Toni" Alcinas Estelrich (born April 7, 1979 in Campos on Mallorca ) is a Spanish darts player .

Career

Alcinas first drew attention to himself in 2004 when he reached the semi-finals of the Spanish championships. In 2005 Alcinas took part in a BDO tournament for the first time . After he failed in the semifinals in 2004 and in the final in 2008, Alcinas won the Spanish championship in 2009. At the end of 2009 he switched from the BDO to the PDC .

At the World Cup of Darts 2010 he represented Spain together with Carlos Rodríguez . After a 6-3 win against Japan, Spain surprisingly defeated the top seeded team from England with Phil Taylor and James Wade and made it to the semifinals, where they lost to the winning team from the Netherlands. 2011 Alcinas qualified for the first time for the world championship, where he failed in the first round without winning a set to James Wade. In 2012 he was defeated by the eventual finalist Andy Hamilton in his first round match with a 2: 3.

At the 2013 World Cup of Darts , Alcinas and Rodríguez defeated the Scottish team with Gary Anderson and Robert Thornton in the last sixteen, and they were defeated by Wales in the quarter-finals. Since 2015 he has been playing at the World Cup of Darts together with Cristo Reyes from Tenerife .

After a few years without great success, Alcinas qualified for the 2018 World Cup . With a victory over his favorite compatriot Cristo Reyes, he got beyond the first round for the first time. Also in round 2 he was victorious with a good game against the German player Kevin Münch . In the second round, Alcinas then clearly failed 4-0 against Englishman Darren Webster . At the 2019 World Cup , Alcinas caused a surprise by beating second in the world rankings Peter Wright 3-1 in the second round.
