German Championship (Darts)
The German championship in darts is held once a year by the German Darts Association (DDV) . The title of German Master is played out in several disciplines . The game is played in different tournament modes, but always in the game 501 Double Out . All individual titles are played on two tournament days. In addition to the main disciplines, u. a. awarded as side tournaments at other DDV ranking tournaments, titles in doubles, two-person, mixed, mixed triple and in a team of four. Other titles follow irregularly as additional tournaments, such as B. the German senior championship .
In 2001, due to a change in season times, two championships were held at national level.
Every member of the DDV who pays the entry fee and is currently not blocked is entitled to participate. A separate qualification for the championship does not take place. In addition to the prize money and the trophy, the winner also receives a starting place at the German Masters , which does not affect the participation rate of the respective national association.
The record champion is, by a large margin, Heike Ernst , who alone has won the German championship ten times. There are also other titles in the double competitions. There is no such clearly outstanding player among the men. However, Andreas Kröckel , Colin Rice , Tomas Seyler , Andree Welge and Kevin Münch were also able to repeat their title win. Ulrich Meyer-Schlueter and Kevin Münch succeeded in winning titles in the youth as well as in the adults.
