Andree Welge (born May 6, 1972 in Bremen ) is a German darts player . With several German championship titles, World Cup participation in both major dart organizations and over 30 appearances in the national team, he is one of the most successful dart players in Germany.

Career

Welge, who has been playing darts since his youth, won his first major tournament in the German Darts Association ( DDV ) in 1991 with the German Masters in Bad Soden . In the following years he added various national victories, u. a. three more at the German Masters, which is a record here. In addition to these ranking tournaments, Welge secured the title of " German Champion " in 2002 and 2008, as well as in doubles in 2004 .

In 2001 Welge made it to the final of an international tournament for the first time. At the Dutch Open, the largest darts tournament in the world, he was only defeated by the Dutchman Raymond van Barneveld in the final . In 2004 he was again in the final of this tournament, but now in doubles. Together with his partner Tomas Seyler he was able to win the title this time. For his first entry into the final, Welge received a wildcard for the BDO World Championship , which apart from him only two other Germans have so far succeeded. With his wildcard for the PDC World Cup in 2006, he is the only German who has already been allowed to take part in both World Championships.

Welge is married and has a daughter.
