Maritime education and training center
The Maritime Education and Training Center ( MaST ), based in Neustadt in Holstein , in the state of Schleswig-Holstein , is responsible for all maritime training in the Federal Police . The seminars and training courses offered by the "Maritime Education and Training Center" are based on technical requirements and prerequisites for the daily management of tasks by law enforcement officers on ships of the Federal Police and are divided into two main areas:
- Specialized training of junior staff for use on board sea vessels at all functional levels
- Further training of trained emergency personnel to maintain or expand existing qualifications
As part of the cooperation with other authorities and organizations with maritime tasks, parts of the training offer are also offered to other federal and state authorities for participation.

There is bilateral cooperation with European coast guards.
