Mark Jenkinson

Mark Ian Jenkinson is a British Conservative Party politician and has been a Member of the House of Commons for Workington constituency since the 2019 general election . Jenkinson was previously a member of UKIP and ran for that party in the same constituency in 2015.

Jenkinson was a founding member of UKIP's West Cumbria organization , but left the party in 2016, citing disagreements over the party's approach to the EU referendum and concerns about internal democracy as reasons.

After it became known that Jenkinson had won the constituency, former UKIP chairman and founder of the Brexit Party, Nigel Farage , expressed his congratulations on Twitter.

Mark Jenkinson is the first Conservative MP for Workington since the 1970s.
